The Story of Us

 

 

Welcome to our story! Jerrod and I have been together since August 2005. We met through my sister, Stephanie, and her now former husband, Cory. Cory and Jerrod are cousins, and spent a lot of time together while Cory was home on leave from the Navy. The summer before my senior year of high school, Cory was back in Wisconsin permanently. He and Steph rented a duplex and I spent most of my time there while I wasn't working at Piggly Wiggly. With a nudge from Steph, I quickly realized how cute Cory's cousin was! We had our little clique and did everything together, including volleyball, bonfires, and endless hours of hackey sack. Being the insecure little teenager I was, I never thought I'd have a chance with this amazing guy who was nearly 5 years older than me. Luckily, with my adorable charm ;) and surprising maturity, I won him over!... Actually, I found out he first had a crush on me when he saw me downing goldfish at Steph and Cory's wedding three years earlier. Little did I know, I didn't have to try so hard! I attribute our relationship to three main events: the Ozaukee County Fair, a night out for Steph's birthday, and Cory's Mom's Wedding. August is one of my favorite months because that's when we finally made it official! We've happily been together for six years now.

 

We got engaged on April 5, 2010 while vacationing in Mexico (check out my blog about the proposal!). In December 2010, we purchased our home in Port Washington, WI, where we both grew up. Jerrod works for Jim Rychtik Construction, and I work for Delta Media, LLC. I studied Graphic Communications and Web Development and Moraine Park Technical College. My hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, decorating our home, reading, and designing. Jerrod loves fishing, trapping, hunting, and gardening. Together, we enjoy spending time with our families, playing volleyball, traveling, exploring the outdoors, or just relaxing at home.

 

Jerrod has an older brother, Jake. He and his wife, Heather, have a little boy named Forrest. I have an older sister, Stephanie, who has a son, Noah. I also have an older brother, Joe, who is married to Ashley. They have two girls, Madie and Reese, and a son, Jaxon. Jerrod and I are a very proud aunt and uncle! We are both very close with our parents. We love our families. They've transformed us into the people we are, and we appreciate everything they've ever done for us.

 

We've been through so much together. But we've learned from it all and it's helped make us into the couple we are today. We are so very much in love and can't wait for our big day!
